Adolescence…for boys, it’s the beginning of a Quest into Manhood…a quest filled with challenges, joys, setbacks, successes, wins and losses. It’s a Quest that will determine the kind of man a boy will become.
As parents and communities we constantly think about raising boys who follow Jesus into good, authentic, heroic manhood. We search for ways to guide, protect and enjoy them as they grow and develop.
Following Jesus: A Heroic Quest for Boys, is a Christ-centered rite of passage/confirmation program for boys of 12 to 14, their dads or father-figures, and their chosen mentors. It gives boys the tools to follow Jesus into heroic manhood.
This Confirmation and Rite-of-Passage program was created by Rev. Tim Wright, Pastor of Community of Grace Church, and Michael Gurian, a pioneer in child development, and author of THE WONDER OF BOYS and THE GOOD SON. Rev. Wright and his team piloted the program at the Community of Grace Church in Peoria, Arizona. This unique program has led to personal transformation for boys, their families, their mentors, and their church community.
